I first became aware of architecture as part of my art history university curriculum, which I later specialized in the study of architecture. Through my experience and analysis of historic buildings, and in particular the medieval urban fabric of Tours, architecture appeared to me as the bearer of an artistic approach and a way to asserting a think.
The idea of making architecture, on the other hand, came about through a reflection on space and its experience. My current interests focus on how architecture conditions social groups, includes or excludes them; and how to analyze and exploit the formal elements that transform our behavior.
The practice of architecture enables me to experiment with social issues and to respond, through artistic practice, to concrete demands, be they political or comfort-related.
Je prends pour la première fois conscience de l’architecture, en l’étudiant dans ma formation à l’histoire de l’art, que j’ai spécialisé par la suite dans l’étude de l’architecture. Par l’expérience et l’analyse des bâtiments historiques, et notamment du tissu médiéval de Tours, l’architecture m’est alors apparue comme porteuse d’une démarche artistique et une manière d’affirmer une pensée.
L’idée de faire de l’architecture elle, s’est plutôt révélée au travers d’une réflexion sur l’espace et son vécu. Mes intérêts actuels portent sur la manière dont l’architecture conditionne les groupes sociaux, inclut ou exclut ; et sur comment analyser et exploiter les éléments formels qui transforment nos comportements.
La pratique de l’architecture permet d’expérimenter des questions sociales et de répondre par une pratique artistique, à des demandes concrètes, politiques, de confort.
